Africa Equipment for Schools is a primary education development organisation working in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our countries of special interest are Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi. We work with the poorest and most vulnerable communities to improve primary school facilities. Our work targets the root of poverty through our "Learning for Life" programme, helping to give teachers and pupils the tools they need in safe, stimulating learning environments. Our main objectives are to reduce pupil drop out rates, increase overall attendance levels, improve the percentage of girls attending and broaden the levels of individual personal achievement. Our funding is generated through appeals to trusts and other charitable organisations.
